Meet Ashley!

In August of 2013, while preparing her daughter for her first dance class, Ashley Kelly found herself at Dance Depot, the very store she shopped at when she was a kid and where she was fit for her first pair of pointe shoes. While there, she learned that the founder, Shirley Van Hise, was ready to sell the store and retire to the mountains after 20 years in business. It was then that the Lord put a spark in her heart to return to the dance world. After some research, deliberation, and a lot of prayer, she decided to purchase the business in January of 2014. For the first two years, she had her youngest daughter, Mattison, in tow every day. Customers loved to see Matti crawling and then toddling around, participating in every fitting, helpful or not. Ashley’s fresh perspective breathed new life into the store, propelling it towards success in an ever-evolving business landscape. From its humble beginnings in a 400 square foot storefront over 30 years ago to finally owning our own 2500 square foot building, we have grown to become a reliable source for all things dance in our local community and beyond.
